Animal Welfare League of Arlington

Donation Need: AWLA’s  Support local pet parents in need. Purchase an Amazon Gift Card, and have it sent to communitysupport@awla.org and in the ‘message’ section, please enter “AWLA Pet Pantry”. Or, purchase a gift card from Dogma Bakery Pet Store (and support a local business at the same time)! Dogma has offered to let AWLA purchase food at cost from their store and will deliver items to pet owners in need. AHC Inc.

Donation Need: Cash contributions made directly to the AHC Emergency Response Fund allow AHC, Inc the most flexibility to help at-risk residents with living expenses, food and other critical necessities as they cope with job losses and other economic uncertainties.

 APAH

Donation Need: Monetary donations to APAH’s Resident Emergency Fund will help residents access urgent food, medicine, personal hygiene products, and other emergency needs that have come from sudden, and often total, loss of income due to COVID-19.

 

Arlington Free Clinic

Donation Need: Masks and 50 home blood pressure cufffs for home use. (This will allow patients with heart disease to monitor their blood pressure at home.) NEW Quick Reading Digital Thermometers, preferably with batteries (for patients to monitor their health status), disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer to give to patients. Donation Need: Snack/Protein Bars for clients. Cleaning supplies including (Lysol Spray, Lysol Wipes, Clorox Wipes, Pure Bright Bleach, Hand Sanitizer, Aloe, Rubbing Alcohol)  Drop Off Location:  A-SPAN, 2020A 14th Street North Arlington, VA 22201. Doorways

Volunteer Need: Participate in the “Drive Thru Deeds” every Friday, 11am-1pm. OAR

Donation Need: Monetary donations to OAR Direct Services Fund, which we use to help meet emergency needs (such as food, clothing, transportation and housing assistance) for men and women who are coming home to the community after incarceration.  Checks to OAR can be sent to 1400 N. Uhle Street, Suite 704, Arlington, VA 22201.

The Arlington Community Corps (ACC) http://arlingtoncommunitycorps.org/  is a resident initiative to bring the community together with neighbors helping neighbors through the COVID-19 crisis.  Arlington County has encouraged each resident to have an emergency preparedness plan, which includes everyone having a buddy to help if you cannot leave your home due to quarantine, illness, or other reasons.  ACC helps to ensure that everyone has a buddy.  Learn more at: arlilngtoncommunitycorps@gmail.com.
