Preservation Arlington has put together two collections of online puzzles to provide some entertainment during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order. Both celebrate locally designated districts in Arlington.

The first of these covers Local Historic Districts. A full list of the local historic districts, along with details on the properties and their addresses, are available on the County’s website.

And, while construction is on hold at the site of the old Latham Hotel in Georgetown, the development team is pursuing a new design for a hotel with more rooms. Thor Equities and architect Shalom Baranes have submitted a new design for the planned hotel at 3000 M Street NW to DC’s Historic Preservation Office.

The proposed hotel would be eight stories high with 256 rooms. A ground level of retail is included in the design.

The hotel as proposed now would include amenity space on three below grade levels, along with roof decks on the third and sixth floors and on the penthouse level.
