Set to open mid-October, “Outdoor Office” (or, just “O2”) is being built and funded by Rosslyn’s Business Improvement District. It will be located in Gateway Park, across the street from the Key Bridge into Georgetown.

The space will feature two separate work areas with free WiFi, each with different seating configurations. At maximum capacity, O2 will be able to accommodate 58 people socially distanced and seated.

Reservations will be available online starting in October. It is recommend to sign up for the BID’s newsletter to find out when spaces will be available. There will be no time limit to the reservation, but there will be a minimum of one hour.

Gateway Park was chosen due to its central location and its underutilized space. Much of the park’s green space will remain open to the public. The park is divided by Fort Meyer Drive and is annually the host of the Rosslyn Jazz Festival — which was rebranded this year to the Rosslyn Jazz Supper Club and won’t be located in the park.

Organizers say that there will be a variety of workstation configurations allowing for both individual work and group working spaces. They ensure that all furniture will be placed 6 to 8 feet apart and that “trained Rosslyn BID Ambassadors” will be onsite “to sanitize workspaces and maintain streamlined operations.”
